Meet Dillon Sun of Wolffe Packke in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dillon Sun.

Dillon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started WoofWoofWolffe as a Youtube channel when I was a junior in high school. I was looking for a Star Wars compilation video, and when I realized that it did not exist, I decided to make it and upload it. That video would later reach over 2 million views. I began building props, recording gameplay, and making reaction videos that many people came to enjoy! I worked with some online friends to grow a Discord community of 30 members into a community of over 12,000 and continued making positive Star Wars gaming content that has led my Youtube channel to receive over 38 million views and 183,000 subscribers as well as my Instagram following to grow to over 36K followers. I love engaging with fellow Star Wars fans and indulging in our love for the fictional stories. I have friends not just across the United States, but also all over the world: in the United Kingdom, Romania, Brazil, Germany, France, Sweden, etc. Some of whom I have had the pleasure of meeting on trips!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
On my channel, we often gather several hundred video game players onto EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) title to attempt to recreate iconic scenes from the films and tv shows in the video game. Since the game does not have private matches, we have to coordinate lobby searching by setting up a schedule that works with everyone and then changing our ping site to the same country and hope to land in the same lobby. And even once landing in the same game lobby, we will encounter random players who will not be aware or understand what activity we are attempting. As such, they will often kill us as we are in our process of creating the content. There are 47 maps in Battlefront 2, and this process can often take us multiple weeks and over 100 players to fully recreate a 2-minute scene.

Wolffe Packke – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our company represents a brand/influencer identity within the sci-fi/Star Wars universe. I am most proud of our team of 3D model artists, voice actors, organizers, and video editors. Everyone is motivated by their shared passion for Star Wars and expresses that through various creative mediums.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have been most proud of the Battlefront Youtuber Challenge video we held for charity. Over the course of 3 weeks, we invited 21 Star Wars Battlefront Youtubers to a challenge video, where we donated $500 to a charity of the winner’s choice and ended up contributing the donation to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org), which helps veterans, who have lost their jobs due to COVID, apply for direct financial assistance through their emergency relief program.
