Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Aguilar.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It was easy to fall in love with stories early in life growing up with classic films like Jurassic Park, Star Wars and Rocky just to name a few. And I’ve realized that after all these years, these films are still popular mainly because of their stories of people who triumph over adversity. The stories attract people more than the visual effects or even the acting.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a young struggling immigrant in the U.S., I wondered what my own story would be and how I would be able to make an impact on society. As I explored this idea, I quickly made this same connection in business. Brands like Apple, Coca Cola and Starbucks are famous for more than their products. Each brand has a creation story that stands firm in its beliefs. Story and product go hand in hand because there is a story behind every business. I guide filmmakers to understand the power of a story to drive success, growth and influence for their projects. I help them tell their story and reach the masses.
Diego Aguilar Marketing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
In marketing, I’m like a chef. I cook up stories. I want people to like my food, talk about my food and get their friends to come over and recommend it to their friends. So, I plan the menus carefully: what story will be served, how and when. I design strategic menus of stories. Bite-sized appetizer stories, individual courses, dessert, etc. to be served at the right times, the right places. I analyze customer’s’ response to inform future menu decisions. And I also respond directly to both positive and negative feedback. A job well done means building a thriving, loyal community driven to take actions that support the restaurant’s business goals and growth.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment in my career was building my own business. It’s something I’ve dreamed about since being a kid. I have a long way to go and many ambitions to attain; but, the passion and hustle is there to take me every step of the way.
