Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Lauzon.
Hi Diana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Farm Stand Apothecary was born out of a desire to reinvent my work life. I wanted to flip the script and become my own boss. I wanted to “work” on something that was creative and fun because let me tell you, hospital administration and accounting are not!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So many challenges…. to start, I had no clue how to make or create anything. I spent a good three months looking for inspiration. Pinterest was my friend, and I googled a ton about starting a business. I finally settled in on soap making…. that lasted six months because I realized the market was flooded with incredibly talented soap makers. So, I started over again… from scratch. I began to reflect on creating my own little niche, something to set me apart… Sounds easy, but nope. The other significant challenge was losing my fear of putting myself out there. The irony is, interacting with people is now my most absolute favorite thing about what I do! It’s okay to fail, just learn from it and keep on going!
We’ve been impressed with Farm Stand Apothecary LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Farm Stand Apothecary is PROUDLY ARTISANAL AND SMALL BATCH. With every idea or creation, a little extra element of fun is added. Most of my products are completely customizable with an emphasis on personalization. Whether it is my bath bombs that have surprise custom notes inside or my funny personalized shower melts, right down to the candles, the client/recipient takes center stage. The result is one of a kind gift giving!
I plan to keep improving on what I do by expanding my offerings and listening to what my clients want. I think the biggest change will involve my website and online marketing. Both need a ton of attention!
