Meet Delaram Pourabdi of PARADEUX in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Delaram Pourabdi.

Delaram, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m an Iranian American artist, I moved to LA 11 years ago to follow my dreams as everyone else. As a woman, it was challenging to find my voice in the entertainment business, especially with my background. I was always seeking for something deeper in my career, to intertwine art with business, to speak up without using words.

I went from Engineering background to Film/TV industry, then transitioned to Music and entertainment industry. I was constantly creating content, experimenting, translating ideas to visuals, I’m grateful for being able to work with the most talented dancers/performance artists in LA along with well-known musicians/producers such as Steve Aoki, Theresa Wayman, etc.

Recently, I have been focusing on creating experiences via experiential events, interactive visuals, and creative branding.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely had challenges. In fact, I’m grateful for those as it taught me a lot, I evolved and grew through them. The most challenging part was having a full-time job at Dim Mak record label which I loved, and running my creative agency on the side, it made me believe in myself more than ever and learn to encounter obstacles as a woman in the entertainment industry. Pushing boundaries and keeping the movement consistent became my daily mantra.

PARADEUX – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a founder & creative director of PARADEUX which was founded in 2015. We translate ideas into visuals that create a sensory experience where the content connects with the audiences. Our vision is both mystical and tense giving the multisensory perception to each story — a poetry in motion, a community that empowers art with a hint of edge and pushes boundaries. I like to create an experience and make the audiences feel through language of visuals.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’m proud of staying true to myself in my work. PARADEUX mirrors my vision and dream.
