Today we’d like to introduce you to David Zuluaga.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Offshore Tea started as a cold brew tea stand in Bushwick NYC in the summer of 2016. Shortly after, I began selling our loose leaf tea blends to restaurants & cafe’s in Brooklyn & Manhattan. I decided to relocate to Los Angeles in 2017, as I could still supply NYC with wholesale tea from out here. I made the move to Venice and was lucky enough to get into Smorgasburg LA soon after.
We sell our cold brew every Sunday there and have begun to expand the wholesale side of the business throughout LA and the South Bay.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been bumpy as a one person business. Permits, keeping up with demand, self-doubt, etc.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Offshore Tea story. Tell us more about the business.
Offshore Tea is a small batch tea company based in Venice, California. We specialize in loose leaf tea sourced from all over the world. All of our blends are simple and 100% natural. We do not use any flavorings or spices. We believe in the full-bodied flavor of the high quality leaves that we source. We offer unique teas & blends with the goal of having people try something that they may have never had before.
