Today we’d like to introduce you to David Cohan.
David, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am the Founder and CEO of Pärdē Productions. I started my passion for design in my 8th Grade school Musical of Annie. I was put in charge of sound and lights for the show. This made me fall in love with the technical side of production. Then in high school I continued my education of Light Design and Sound Design for nearly all the events at my high school. This led to me being hired to do many professional designing during my time in high school. I then went to Cal Poly Pomona where I received a degree in Technical Design.
I have been working in the entertainment industry for over 15 years working on professional concerts and theatrical shows. I have worked with many industry leading artist. I started this company because many companies out there did the same thing over and over at every event that I had personally gone to. I wanted to shake things up.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting Pärdē was no easy thing to do. Even till today I have had struggles adapting to what needs to be done to make the company grow to what I want to accomplish. Growing is hard in an industry where many have no idea what lighting can do for their event. Educating the client is difficult but I am always up to the challenge.

Pärdē Productions is an Event Lighting and Special Effects company that works on all types of events. We do lighting curtains, uplighting, accent lighting, stage lighting, dance floor lighting, trussing, monograms, specialty lighting, string lighting, bistro lighting, market lighting and so much more.
We specialize in lighting and special effects for weddings, Bar/Bat mitzvahs, corporate events, launch parties, engagements, house parties, Quinceaneras, Sweet 16s and everything else! We work on events in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Century City, Marina Del Rey, Westlake Village, Studio City, Glendale, Downtown Los Angeles, LAX area, and greater Los Angeles County.
What sets us apart is that our entire staff has and still works on large scale productions and concerts. Many vendors spread themselves thin doing many aspects of an event, I strictly work on lighting. I take pride in my ability to use my special skill set to give people an affordable way of making their event spectacular.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am happy to say that I always adapt the company to grow and be bigger and better. I strive to have the newest lighting at an affordable price to the customer. I recently added Light Curtains and String Lights which are the hottest items. I always want to have the coolest and most unique things in our inventory to best serve our clients.
