Today we’d like to introduce you to Dasha Dean.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m Dasha, a big dreamer, loving life and a good laugh. Also, a wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer =)
I lived in Moscow, Russia all my life, a total city girl in soul, always on the go, love dressing up, wandering around streets with beautiful architecture and stopping by cozy local cafes to get a latte.
I always thought that was my place to be but the beauty of life is that you never know what can come your way. For me it was a handsome Californian guy Roqi who just swept me off my feet with his witty humor, charm and a big heart. Years passed by quickly for us in Moscow and recently we decided to shake things up and move to Los Angeles to try something new. Because life is an exciting journey, right?!
Recently we welcomed our sweet baby boy Brixton into this world and couldn’t be happier. We love adventures, going to new places (so far 35 countries for me and 37 for Roqi) and joking and goofing around. We have a big dream of showing our boy how beautiful and different the world around us is and see it through each other’s eyes.
Please tell us about your art.
I believe that True Love is finding your soulmate in your best friend, walking through life hand in hand and filling it with as many joyful moments as possible. And that’s where my passion for photography comes from. I love and serve people: from their engagements and weddings, through their maternity to the sweetest newborn and family life – I capture the joy of their lives to treasure forever.
How do I do it? I look for every opportunity to make my clients feel and look gorgeous. I love and embrace natural light as much as possible. I’ll do everything to make sure they have fun with me and at the end receive dreamy artwork with yet a classic and timeless style.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is so different to everyone. For me enjoying life, being there for my family and friends, doing what I love and making a difference (it doesn’t matter how big or small) in someone’s life is a HUGE success.
I want to look back at my life one day and say: Daaannng, that was good! Let’s repeat!!
Continue dreaming, be kind, don’t be afraid to start, don’t be afraid to change and try again. Do everything possible and sometimes impossible towards your dreams. It’s also a lot of behind the scenes hustle and persistence, many sleepless nights but it’s so worth it when you see it all coming together. I want to wish everyone: DO IT!
