Meet Darryl Appiah and Brian Wilson of Prime Hierarchy in Northern VA based

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darryl Appiah and Brian Wilson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Darryl and Brian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Had an idea back in 2011 while in college to start a brand. Brian and I went to high school together and had always been heavily into fashion as well as the hottest and latest sneakers, accessories, etc . Once I left school I got with him and exchanged ideas until we landed on a concept. My original idea was initially taken upon doing some research but after further brainstorming, we were able to adjust and create what is now Prime Hierarchy clothing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In addition to the obstacles, new businesses typically face I would say some of the main challenges stemmed from being too reliant on others outside the business for things. Things weren’t done on our time or when we needed them to be completed and it was becoming a nuisance. We prioritized cutting out middlemen to combat that. The clothing business is one that is sort of over-saturated so just trying to stand out and stay above the curve can pose a challenge but it’s one we are up for.

Prime Hierarchy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are an up and coming apparel company specializing in making shirts, hats, jackets, you name it. We make our designs unique to stand out and limit the quantity of our releases to keep everything as exclusive as possible. Seeing your art come to life and people supporting the movement brings me the most joy. We pride ourselves on always trying to stay ahead of the curve.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me personally is measured by how successful you can make those around you as well. To me, that is real greatness. I want to be comfortable. Financially comfortable, mentally comfortable, and just overall stress-free. In addition to that, I want to make those closest to me comfortable as well. What good is success if you have nobody to share it with? I will do all that I can to achieve that. It takes a lot of ambition, drive, dedication, and focus.
