Meet Darren Gaertner of

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darren Gaertner.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Darren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m an L.A. native that started out in sales and made it my career. My very first job at the age of 10 was selling candy door to door for my father’s business. It taught me a lot of what I still use today. Most importantly, customer service. I went into real estate because I love waking up each morning to something new and helping my clients with the largest purchase of their lives.

As a Realtor, I didn’t waste any time staking my claim as one of Los Angeles’ premier agents. I closed my very first transaction in under 30 days of becoming a real estate agent. Within my first year, I sold an impressive $5 million estate in the Hollywood Hills. I’ve since sold from Ventura to Orange County specializing in high-end estates and investment properties for my clients.

Growing up in Hollywood, it was only natural for my focus to be the Hollywood Hills, which led to the creation of, as well as the Facebook page for the area.

My other passion is giving back to my community. I prefer to invest my time and be hands on, I feel seeing the difference up close and personal is more educational than simply writing a check. Through this work my accomplishments include a plaque from the city of West Hollywood, being selected to run the 1996 Olympic Torch as well as honored at Dodger’s Stadium as Home Town Hero for Los Angeles.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My struggle has always been the same… I tend to be a perfectionist, which certainly has its drawbacks. I’m always trying to set myself apart from the average agent, I want to do what’s new and look at new ways to market. Meaning at the beginning, I refused to take a day off, I never slept and I worked nonstop in an effort to learn innovative and new ways to market a house. I wanted to know what made the biggest impact for each seller. I loved selling a house in days that other agents couldn’t sell in months, and it always came down to “outside the box” marketing.

I attribute this attitude to my grandmother that taught me a rhyme, “when a job has just begun, never leave it ’til it’s done, whether it be great or small, do it well or not at all.”

Thank you, grandma, the hard work pays off!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
In a constantly changing real estate environment, I try evolve and have emerged as the most innovative and elite brands in the Hollywood Hills. has successfully listed and sold a myriad of homes. We set ourselves apart by crafting each marketing plan to that individual home. I like to treat each property like a celebrity, they deserve top billing and millions of dollars.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was somewhat shy and reserved. I preferred to read books about the ocean. I thought, for sure, I would be a marine biologist. My bedroom was full of fish tanks, big, small, saltwater, freshwater. They were my pride and joy, I always would bring guests to my room to show off my latest fish tank.
