Meet Juicedbynesha

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darneshia Roberts.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
At the age of 13, my stepmother’s braider noticed my interest in braiding and taught me how to French braid. I’m a visual learner, so her showing me in detail that one time was enough. From that point, I was braiding everyone’s hair. From my family, high school mates, cheer team, models, and just about anyone who had time to allow me to perfect my craft using them.

From there, I used my money to set up a station in my room, then in my kitchen once I got my own apartment, then to my first salon station on market street in Inglewood, CA to my own suite in Westchester where I reside at the moment. Speaking things into existence, I hope to have my own JBN headquarters or something where stylists and barbers can come and get everything they need from education on tax services to hours for their license.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My journey hasn’t always been smooth, but I’m grateful for each experience. It’s given me a testimony, taught me to always put God first and I’ll never be last and remain faithful to my passion because my passion will always be faithful to me. I’ve had several trying struggles in my immediate family which lead me to making several life-changing decisions and putting others before me. But In doing so my craft never left my side. And that alone is one of the main reasons why I know I belong right here.

Juicedbynesha – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m an LA-based versatile hairstylist. I do everything from natural hair, cuts, braids, weaves, ponytails. Just about everything. I’m most known for my fatty braid. Which are the larger French braids. And my sleek poppin ponytails. I’m most proud to be a successful female entrepreneur in a field where most give up because it’s so over saturated. Having the mind state that I’m supposed to be here. The doors are already open for me. And as long as I do my part, what’s for me will always be for me no matter who else is present sets me apart from so many who are also in this field. I love my career. And I’m getting better with time.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
In my opinion, success is doing the best you can. Not giving up because of what you feel you’re lacking. Not being intimidated by others who you see have more. And striving to always put your best foot forward. Challenge yourself and fly pass those milestones and goals. The only thing I’m looking out for is a hater or someone paying more attention to what I have going on than what’s in front of them.
