Meet Dariyon Anderson of Ybm.bandz in La-Compton-Oc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dariyon Anderson.

Dariyon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started off a young Black boy in South Central La. I moved to Compton at the age of 12. I lived in Compton for ten years and I gotta say La and Compton were both ruff areas. I wrote my first rap at 15 and I been goin up every since. The road wasn’t easy but the fact I didn’t give up makes me most proud. As I continue to go up my main goals are to make my family proud, stay grounded/away from negativity, and make the world a better place day by day. Word of advice to anyone who takes a similar route “it won’t be easy but God rewards those who don’t give up”.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles I faced coming up where majority of people I came up with switching up at one point or another. When you come from a tuff environment, you want to take as many people with you as you can. The honest truth is most of them won’t make it with you because God gave the vision to you not everyone else. When you face adversity you have two options one complain and bring more pain your way or use it as fuel to make a more positive life for you and your family. Sometimes the road less traveled is the one that’s most rewarding because it gives you more time to build a solid foundation. The choice is always yours so make sure it’s the one that brings you true happiness.

Please tell us about Ybm.bandz.
My business is a multicultural business that will help you elevate your mind as well as heal your soul by hearing the truth. I specialize in anything God tells me to do honestly. I’m known mostly for music and being positive in negative environments. I’m most proud that I’m still here today to make a positive change. What sets me apart from most people is that when I’m faced with negative situations, I turn them into better opportunities.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory growing up is anything that involves being connected to my family.
