Today we’d like to introduce you to Darian Freeman.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started playing trombone at 9 years old. I just remember my mom saying I needed to learn an instrument for 1 year and if I didn’t like it I could stop. The reason I chose the trombone was because when they did all the demonstrations on the instruments, they played Star Wars on the trombone. Now almost 20 years later and I’m still playing!
Please tell us about your art.
I play orchestral music. Most of what I like to play is very old music. Performed thousands of times all over the world. But what I take from it and I think most people should take from it is that the music that orchestras play can paint a picture differently for everyone. Music is definitely a second language but the cool thing about it is that even though we all understand that language we all interpret it differently.
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
I think the biggest challenge may be to have people understand why you do what you do
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I post quite frequently on my trombone Instagram, @darianfreemantrombone.
