Meet Darcy Gilmore of Darcy Gilmore Makeup Artist

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darcy Gilmore.

Darcy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
A fun ride of amazing experiences in Los Angeles doing exactly what I set out to do! I started working as a retail makeup artist and finally became a working union makeup artist. And then I stayed focused until I got to a place where I could make other peoples dreams come true as well.

I have done so many commercials, music videos, TV shows, press junkets and personal appearances that I have lost track of by name. But I have NEVER forgotten the personal amazing moments with each person in the chair. Everyone has a story. Everyone has ups and downs. Everyone has a journey. I am happy to have shared them.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think the biggest struggle is getting what you want in life than learning how to re-create new goals and ways to take your career to the next level of challenges.

I doubt I am alone when I say that after working super hard and relentless I found myself overwhelmed with organization and obligations. That’s when you have to stop down and stay in gratitude and make a scorecard of all of your blessings.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Darcy Gilmore Makeup Artist – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Union Makeup Artist working as a Department Head for TV shows. I am also a men’s grooming expert who works with personal clients as well. I am most proud of the relationships that I have had that stem back to as long as 15 years ago.

I love working with production companies and clients for so long because communication becomes shorthand but never assumed. We know exactly what is needed in order to stay on budget, having talent ready on time and steering away from drama all the while. I have to say that you quickly become a family as the nature of working 16-18 hours a day with a group of people.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans are to be available to personally grow and to see where my career leads.

Because change is inevitable, I am preparing for that! I have been told so many times to create my personal line of skincare or a beauty product, but I am not sure how that would work since I am in love with sooo many amazing companies and products already!
