So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The company was started as a business consulting company in 1994 out of my bedroom in Dallas TX. within the first 6 months I was working with some major companies such as Northrop Grumman in LA and Philips. More people joined the company as our business expanded. Some of our customers expressed interest in planning systems in order to increase the velocity of their business, improve their inventory turns to reduce their cost and increase their profit. To this end, we designed one of the most advanced planning systems using Artificial Intelligence technology. Our first application developer joined us and hired a couple of others all working out of their bedrooms to develop the solution. Within months we have the first prototype. The system was implemented very successfully and the client was used for references to sell to many other Fortune 2000 companies including Lucent Microelectronics, Hitachi, and Toshiba. We also expanded very rapidly in Asia with the help of our business partners and managed to have 9 out of the top 10 electronic companies in Japan, as well as prominent customers Taiwan and Korea such as Samsung and Hynix. For the first three years company expanded at an average of 300% and even faster over the next 3 years resulting in one of the top 5 Deloitte’s fastest growing companies. We now have Fortune 2000 customers in 5 continents and offices in Asia, Europe and North America with HQ in Los Angeles. Our products are the most comprehensive solutions for supply chain planning and inventory planning. Our customers use Adexa applications to lower their operation cost and at the same time improve their delivery performance to high 90% allowing them to expand their market share and increase profit.
Has it been a smooth road?
We have had our share of growing pains. In the first 3 years of the company, we raised no capital. To this end we had to be very careful how and when we spend money and making sure that we do not expand too fast. Later on after the tragic events of 9/11 and recession in the early year of the new century, we had no choice but adjust our cost and close a number of our offices. This all happened when we were trying to take the company public and had to abort because of the unfavorable economic environment at the time.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Los Angeles is a very attractive place for the employees of Adexa to start their career. There is great diversity and many options available for entertainment and cultural growth.
The only major issue is the cost of living and housing and as we all know, the traffic! The former makes it hard for new employees to move to LA from other parts of the country.
