Meet Coleen Janeway of Skin Food Body Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coleen Janeway. She and her team share her story with us below.

Please kick things off for us, where does Coleen’s story begin?
Coleen is a beauty expert, writer, editor, and skinfood chef. Former owner of an award-winning medical spa, and having the opportunity to oversee other successful wellness brands and medical practices in Los Angeles, CA she has been in the business of health and wellness long enough to understand what is hype and what is truth, she cuts through the confusing glittery mess and peels back the layers of superficial to reveal what is real and effective, helping her clients set and achieve attainable goals by simplifying food and skincare.

Through her work, she demonstrates a restorative lifestyle to achieve the best version of one’s self. After years of troubleshooting and personal research, she was constantly discovering so much of what we are told and marketed about food or skincare was just flat-out wrong. Ingredients are not necessarily pure (possibly even harmful), the quality may be less than what one would expect. Since Coleen had been suffering from an autoimmune disease that took four years and multiple doctors to diagnose, she felt dismayed and confused by the information out there.

When she finally got to the root of her own diagnosis, she thought to herself, healing oneself should not have to be so complicated since most of what causes the body to inflame or become irritated are generally related to something ingested or topically applied to the skin. Coleen felt the need to share her story and more importantly share just how easy it is to see big changes in your skin and body with small adjustments regularly. Life gets complicated and old habits can set in.

Now is exactly the time to learn new and exciting things to help slow our body’s natural aging process and create longevity in the lifestyles we lead by preparing the body for optimal health through easy changes.

The initial inspiration for SkinFoodBodyLove came to Coleen about a year ago while working with the wonderful health coach and author, Neil Cannon (“The Vitality Secret”). Neil and Coleen collaborated on several video features to provide his audience with easy choices for diet and food preparation. Together, they showed how proper eating could address skin conditions and help reduce inflammation in our bodies. Thus, SkinFoodBodyLove was born!

Coleen, every journey has it’s struggles.  What were some of the struggles you faced along the way?
It’s not enough in the world of beauty to just know a few things. Customers want to be educated and heard. The biggest challenge is helping them understand some of us online are genuine and really want to motivate and provide the right knowledge of how to achieve the best skin possible with what’s available to the person. A connection is the key to creating relationships, and I am hopeful my brand relays my message in a genuine and authentic way.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Skin Food Body Love – what should we know?
Skin Food Body Love is really about whole body health. Creating longevity and aging gracefully. I work daily on research, while I discover and provide information to a broad audience of men and women about health, wellness, lifestyle changes, and beauty. A culmination of principles to live by is my motto. It takes many disciplines to lead a balanced life, and beauty really comes from within, literally and figuratively.

What sets Skin Food Body Love apart is, this brand was created with intention based on results through personal experience, to share and collaborate. I am honored every chance I get to share the acquired knowledge I have and share in the successes our customers and clients achieve with our curated products and my recipe and lifestyle examples.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is relative, so many have supported me on my journey. I measure success by my referrals and fan base. I feel I am achieving each time I see a message or feedback from my customers. We are engaging and sharing ideas and struggles together. They are my support and inspiration for doing what we do.

Having a positive community surrounding you also helps along the way, and I can say I have been shown amazing kindness and love throughout my launch of the brand. Los Angeles is a wonderfully creative city with some of the best resources. I am grateful daily of the continuous opportunity.
