Meet Chus Rodriguez of Los Angeles Doughnuts in Woodman Avenue.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chus Rodriguez.

Chus, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As far as the “ Los Angeles Doughnuts “movement, it started from my passion for the culture of What is life in LA. I wanted to start a brand to represent LA streetwear combined with the love I have for Hip Hop and one of my biggest Inspirations In hip hop is the late great J-Dilla whom which I named my Son after believe it or not.

DillaDonut has been a nickname for my son since he was born, so the Logo of the brand is the legendary LA logo from the Dodgers with a Pink J-Dilla Donut hanging from the L. Soon as I drew that up and showed people I got an instant following and a lot of love and support. Which leads up to me being here with my Brand “ Los Angeles Doughnuts “

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to where the brand stands at now had been nice and smooth with the help of all the support I receive from people promoting and purchasing t-shirts and all types of other apparel from sweaters to shorts to hoodies etc…

Also, one major key in the success of it is the help of my business partner/wife Rebeca.

Without her I’ll be struggling with the brand most definitely.

Please tell us more about your business.
The LA Doughnuts brand is a streetwear clothing company to represent the culture of the great city Of Los Angeles and it’s surrounding areas, from every Hood to Hood all the way from Van Nuys to Beverly Hills. It specializes in custom apparel and known for creating designs and color schemes in gear that suits the flavor of each different person, there’s a different type of clothing item to fit the style of all different variety of vibes in that are out here in LA.

The brand is most known for having different color LA logos and shirts to rep all teams from the Dodgers, to the Lakers all the way to the UCLA bruins and the USC Trojans. Most thing I’m proud of the company is now it represents LA but has reached out to people all the way out to the East Coast, and in between, having shipped orders to all across the Country. I believe it what sets us apart from others is the creativity we have to catch the eye of all types of people, from kids to adults of all ethnicity.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success in the LA Doughnuts brand by having orders sent out on time, and keep bringing out designs in apparel for customers and supporters to keep an eye out on all the new stuff coming out. Everything seems like it’s going in that path , feel blessed with all the love and recognition.
