Meet Christy Camp-Quade of Skin Camp in Beverly Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Camp-Quade.

Christy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been interested in aesthetics since I was a young girl growing up in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. However, I was mostly interested in how tan I could get until I hit my early 30′s when the UV damage and hyperpigmentation started to surface. Starting a strict skin regiment and chemical peel schedule saved my skin, and I now look better than ever with healthy, glowing skin. As an esthetician dedicated to skin care I want to help my clients achieve the healthiest skin possible from the inside out. I not only treat my clients’ skin, I educate them on everyday maintenance and product usage.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being a clinical Esthetician, it can be challenging competing with the medical spas. They can offer much more aggressive treatments with faster results. The trade off is the price tag and the downtime. My approach to skincare is progressive, not aggressive. There are also so many great product lines from organics to botanicals; it can be difficult to stay knowledgeable about them all.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Skin Camp – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have a very clinical approach to skin care that is personally tailored to each client’s needs. My goal is to improve my client’s skin from the surface to the dermis. I am known for a no “BS” approach to skin care. My clients know that if they want to see improvements in their skin they come see me, if they want a relaxing facial with massage, they go somewhere else. Beauty hurts is very much a fact. I am a firm believer in stimulating the healing response in the skin. This promotes new cell growth, which reverses UV damage, scars, fine lines and wrinkles. Correcting and fighting off aging isn’t a one and done treatment. You don’t get skinny from visiting the gym once, and you can’t erase years of damage with one facial treatment. What makes my practice different from many other spas is I educated my clients on the importance of home care and diet. What we eat plays a huge role on how our skin behaves. Being a one-woman show, my clients know that they will always have a personalized experience. I am always available for my clients via text or phone call. If they find a product they aren’t sure is appropriate for their skin, they can text me a photo of the product and I will advise them accordingly. I also believe in treating acne without pharmaceutical drugs which often requires an in-depth discussion on what is going on in the digestive system.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans are to partner part-time with a dermatologist so I can offer and suggest some of the more aggressive treatments.
