Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Marie Scott.
Christine Marie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a local & travel Portrait & Wedding Photographer from Southern California. I’ve been in the creative industry as a professional for over 12 years now shooting with Canon equipment. Photography started when I was a tiny tot with toy cameras, Mom’s throw away cameras & Grama’s film camera back in the early ’90s. From there, I moved up in the world with my dad’s massive video camera that you had to hold over your shoulder. Those held VHS tapes if anyone remembers those. It was good times. 🤣 In middle school, I stuck with throw-away & film cameras. And funky video cameras that would hold VHS-C tapes. In high school, I was the cool kid with a Canon point & shoot camera with super low megapixels and this odd box looking video camera that would hold HI-8 tapes. Eventually, I started to move on to higher quality cameras and each time I did I would obsess over how they work.
Being a Professional starts with time, hard work, dedication, & money. To really grow your Photography business it takes time, hard work, dedication, money, strength, knowledge, & experience. To be honest, No one is ever fully done growing in this industry. Ever. There is always something new to learn or an upgrade of some sort. I’ve learned & worked in many different genres of Photography and always choose to work with people. The past few years my focus has been on Portraits and Weddings. Not only because they are very special but because I am super upbeat and energetic. I enjoy and can handle a lot of people & different situations. 😉
I have been traveling around quite a bit lately and living on my computer answering emails & editing some amazing photos. I’m so happy and very blessed to be where I am in the Photography World. I couldn’t have done it without my amazing clients, family, & friends all these years.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a long hard road for me. There have been many ups and downs. There have been busy and slow seasons. The hardest struggle so far is COVID and all my weddings being canceled or postponed. It’s affected us all for sure. I have been inspired during this time and want to continue working hard and keeping my photography alive!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lomonico Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
What is Lomonico? (Pronounced: Low-maan-ih-ko 😉) Lomonico is Christine Marie’s Italian family name. It’s the perfect representation of Christine Marie’s Photography. Lomonico is Strength. Lomonico is Creative. Lomonico never gives up. That is what Christine Marie is and what she will provide for you.
You can call me by my nickname, Steen. I’m the earthy, edgy, colorful photographer that wears black all the time. Hehe! I admire those that have a colorful vibrant soul. Those who appreciate art and people just as much as I do! My childlike spirit tends to rub off on people. I bring positive, energetic passion to every shoot, capturing everything from your most significant moments to your smallest, most special memories. I strive to capture every feeling and every piece of magic. I will laugh with you, cry with you, hold your hand, high five a crazy uncle, two-step on the dance floor while snapping away, and run around making sure all is well! I got Choo. Let’s make some awesome memories together that we will never forget. OHKAY.
My family and friends mean the world to me. I am a PAWrent to my trusty little pooch, Boots. I’m obsessed with Mac and Cheese. I’m a red wine lover (get that from my Italian side). The ocean is where my soul truly is. I was born and raised in Southern California; my business started in this beautiful golden state. I work as a full-time photographer in beautiful San Dimas California, and I TRAVEL for work as well! I’ve followed clients to Hawaii, Colorado, Washington, Texas, Chicago, Wisconsin, Montana, New Mexico, and Michigan. I continue to plan fun adventures all around the U.S. & out of the country. I love new experiences while still staying connected with my roots!
My positive energy, personality and connection with my clients is what truly sets me apart from other photographers.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on continuing my travel photography journey and venturing to Italy!
