Meet Christina Harmon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Harmon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Christina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Palm Springs with a father who was a real estate broker who owned his own real estate firm and had these incredible close relationships he’d fostered amongst his clients over decades. I spent my weekends at open houses with him, he’d take me to listing appointments, and I found myself as a little girl talking about bathroom count and French doors.

Flashforward to my dad’s passing about eight years ago, I had a longing to carry on a bit of his legacy and see how I could focus my energy as a full-time real estate agent who was also deeply connected to her clients and their lives. I wanted something that wasn’t my 9-5 job, was something that I could transition into all aspects of my life because I just cared so much about it. So, I left my 10+ years as a successful medical sales professional and came to Sotheby’s International Realty where I could learn my craft and soak up as much as I could from the best in the industry while demonstrating my own unique strengths.

It’s been five years and it’s definitely my calling, really fitting that my purpose of connecting with others. I have found my niche of clients that seem to really identify with myself and my approach to business. They are typically a younger professional audience, many of which are female millennial professionals that have extremely busy lives and are looking for a level of concierge service I can provide them. My service allows them to focus on their intense career, many times while also juggling children just trying to find other hours in their day. I’ll meet with them at their office with lists of properties, bring a lender with product options, and genuinely fit into the corners of their lives so they don’t miss a step. I also truly get to know them well so the properties I find for them are so in tune with their needs. I act as their agent but also their friend who helps them find a contractor they can trust for a renovation, helps with design help from myself or a designer, find them childcare in the area, really the list is endless and unlimited. It doesn’t end at the transaction, it’s a relationship that lasts a lifetime.

Today my highest honor is serving clients as their biggest advocate during their biggest transaction of their life utilizing patience, education, full transparency and a hand-holding that is 100% geared to the client. I have a bi-weekly video series that covers everything from securing home loans to the ins and outs of renovations so I hope that helps people in need now, in the future, or just want to be educated. I house these videos on my socials and on YouTube as well.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been fairly organic in its growth which helped me feel like I was in the right path. I think the struggle was when I thought maybe working in a team/group might be helpful. I learned that my approach was genuinely a little different and keeping serving my audience I hold so dear is just best on my own so that they get my particular service and authenticity

Christina Harmon – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I think the proudest moment was the reception of people who saw my website and my brand video. I think my producer of my content really captured my authentic self through his product. When people responded with “it’s so YOU” I think that just solidified that my work is me, that I’m just being myself in a professional role and that’s all I can ask for.
