Meet Chris Hitchko of Show Up Fitness in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Hitchko.

Chris, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our wall says it all, “90% of success is just SHOWING UP!” Show Up Fitness was founded in 2011 in the Bay Area and in the past three years moved to Santa Monica. We focus on educating our clients and getting them their best results by Winning The Week, a term coined via the founder Chris Hitchko. Winning the Week can be achieved by lifting weights four out of seven days in the work week. As a society, we seem to take an all or none approach to fitness, you either win or lose- not at Show Up Fitness. We’re primarily a 1-1 private personal training company, but we do offer small group classes called, “Bootycamps.” These classes focus on building the booty- a main area that a lot of our clients want to develop. All of our trainers have graduated from the Show Up Fitness Academy which is a 4-month personal training school. We pride ourselves in understanding the human body, which eventually helps our clients get their desired goals.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you SHOW UP, anything is possible! We’re planning on expanding into Brentwood and West Hollywood within the next 12-18 months, we’re doing great.

Show up fitness – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We’re a private 1-1 personal training company. We also offer small group classes called, “bootycamps.” All of our trainers have graduated from the top tier personal training academy, Show Up Fitness Academy. Owner Chris Hitchko, has graduated over 700 personal trainers and we pride ourselves in being the gym that teaches trainers, and gets our clients results. Half the battle is showing up!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being able to expand from the Bay Area into Santa Monica. With one gym we were able to help a lot of people, now with two, we’ve been able to help even more. Imagine how many people we will be able to help when we have four? Eight? 100?
