Meet Chiquita Dennie of 304 Publishing Company in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiquita Dennie.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chiquita. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in film and tv production working on tv shows like Tyra Banks Show, Dr. Phill, VH1 reality shows, and movie sets. I went to school for film production and got a degree on the production side and worked my way up to eventually starting my own production company Harrell Street Films. I wrote my first screenplay and it ended up becoming my first book Antonio and Sabrina Struck In Love a five-book romantic suspense and two spinoff series. That translated into me starting my own publishing company that releases multiple genres from Romance, Mystery, Women’s Fiction, Paranormal, and Graphic Novels.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a smooth road so far. I’ve published over 37 books under three pen names, and things are constantly changing so trying to stay up to date with all the new ways to publish has been interesting to learn.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about 304 Publishing Company – what should we know?
I have three businesses that I love and cherish. Currently, my publishing company is keeping me the most busy and super proud when I hear from readers and they love the characters that I create. I’m known for not only my contemporary romance books and dark romance. Also, creating in new genres for mystery and thriller is exciting when the book isn’t even out yet and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. My podcast show is coming back in October and I look forward to getting back into conversation about publishing, being an entrepreneur and the state of the world. The film company is on hiatus at the moment of everything that’s going on with the virus. Mostly focused on my publishing company.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think having determination, drive, and being open to failure on the first go round with a new business makes it more important when you become successful.
