Meet Cheridomingo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheridomingo.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Cheridomingo started in 2016 in Simi Valley, CA. It’s all of our hometown. The band came up because myself (Anthony), my best friend Adam, and my cousin Alex all wanted to write music that gave us the same goosebumps we got when we listened to our favorite bands. Along the way, we met our drummer Chrys and since then, we’ve just been continuing on our path of trying to write really passionate, emotional music.

Please tell us about your music.
We make music. All of us are songwriters so there’s never a time where someone doesn’t have some kind of rhythm idea or vocal melody or riff that they can bring in for everyone to dress up and flesh out. Writing music is our favorite thing to do, and the feeling of performing those songs live is the best rush I think any of us ever have. I hope people can relate to the songs, and feel a sense of community and togetherness when they come to one of our shows, that’s something I’d like everyone to feel, know about, be a part of.

What do you think about the conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I think life for artists has become easier and harder. Easier because it’s easy to get work out there, harder because everyone now has work out there and for myself personally the effect of social media on my mental health and art can be a difficult thing sometimes. I think as long as cities like ours gives people chances to showcase art, whether it’s music, painting, poetry, whatever – giving a space for people to share that is definitely something every city should have.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
People can support us and our art by coming to our shows, following our social media and listening to us on Spotify or Apple music, etc.
