Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaz Medlock.
Chaz, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started photography a few years ago after I moved to LA and met a photographer that I worked with. I was always into art, so it didn’t take much for me to switch over from drawing to photography. Once I got the basics down, I would practice daily until I was good enough to start charging for my craft.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road of course with anything there will always be bumps along the way. I started to have some issues when I really wanted to take my work to the next level and get bigger paying clients and work with brands. So I obviously had to up my skill set that matched with the jobs that I was trying to get.
Please tell us about CMVISUALS.
It initially started off as a photography business then it bloomed into something a little more. My new business that I am working on is a content creating an agency that will create content for brands who need help managing their online presence which includes various social media outlets and websites.
This means if a brand wants to work with the agency they would have consistent content to post including video and photos and they would have their pages managed by the company.
I think what would set me apart from others is that the agency would basically be a one-stop shop. They would have everything they need in one company and wouldn’t have to really worry about that side of their business.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think there is anything that I would do differently at this point. I feel like every experience good or bad is a learning moment where you can improve on things that you haven’t run into yet.
