Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantelle Gibbs.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had an artistic, creative and person-oriented leaning, which I’m thankful was cultivated at a young age. From songwriting to performing, public speaking to working with youth. After graduating from an arts high school in Orange County, I went on to study Communication at Biola University, where I currently teach as an adjunct professor.
I’ve been blessed with various opportunities throughout the years to serve and lead, from speaking to junior highers at a small Christian camp in the redwoods of Santa Cruz to songwriting and singing with friends. I also love theatre and volunteer as an improv coach while pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles.
I am still uncovering more and more each day layers of what I feel I’ve been created by God to do and how I can uniquely impact the community and world around me for the better. Life feels whimsical and rich and beautiful, and I have an unshakeable feeling that the best is yet to come.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not! I feel like my twenties have at times felt like an insurmountable uphill climb towards fulfilling what I believe and foresee my calling to be. I have stumbled along the way; some days have felt heavy and lackluster and aimless.
There have been seasons where I have felt like squandered potential, and an insistent comparison to those that know with full confidence what they are created to do has sucked me of joy.
But they are but seasons – what lasts and often lies there in the quiet and the waiting is the truth that I have been made for a purpose, and there is always something to be learned along the way.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I would say that I am, above all else, a person who was created with a great capacity to love. I am known for my intentionality and ability to draw people into an authentic disarming space. I am a singer, an actress, a writer, and my mom thinks I’m funny. I guess my hair sets me apart from others as does my insatiable love for puns.
What are your plans for the future? What are you looking forward to or planning for – any big changes?
That’s the goal! I have hopes, dreams, and aspirations that range from performing at a Tiny Desk concert, knocking out an EGOT, traveling the world, getting as fit as Gigi Hadid and finishing all the books on my Goodreads “Want to Read” list.
I also hope to establish something on this earth that outlives me – more than a feeling or a moment but an orientation towards something bigger than me, as a result of the way that I lived my life and who I lived my life for.
I hope people see Jesus in me and praise Him because of my life and how I chose to spend my days. I also hope to befriend Lin Manuel-Miranda and Stevie Wonder in this lifetime.
