Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely been a real challenge to be able to sustain and grow a media business in a place like LA, especially with all the competition this city has because of its roots in the Visual Effects industry.
Nevertheless, its been a great two-year journey that leads me to meet some amazing creatives and collaborate with so many talented people that have taught me a great deal in what it means to become a better filmmaker.
The passion and love the people I’ve worked with has exceeded any expectations I’ve had about working in the industry, and with this rising wave of young artists and content creators, rest assured there will be a lot more work to come for newcomers and established creators alike.
Vanguard Studios VFX – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Vanguard Studios VFX is a visual effects and post-production company founded back in 2013.
We live to embrace the collision where creativity, technology and storytelling become one. Our mission is to provide cinematic quality post-production services in areas of editing, visual effects, color correction & motion graphics.
Our “raison d’être” is to wonder our audience and bring you – the movie magic. Invisibly and seamlessly. We strive to collaborate and empower creators and filmmakers alike by helping them bring their vision and projects to life.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Your definition of success really depends on how confident and at peace you are at the moment with yourself. I believe that if you are doing something you love and care about passionately, you will become good at it with enough work and practice, ultimately making you and your peers feel better after every project you complete. The money and the fame will come on its own eventually if your really good at what you do.
Success doesn’t necessarily mean being filthy rich and have a multi-million dollar agency, for me specifically I feel that if my company is constantly being reached out to collaborate with, I’ve achieved success. My dream has always been to have my own production company and better yet actually work on big projects and renowned artists that could plummet our name into the industry big guys.
Slowly but surely, Vanguard VFX is making its way to the top, having worked with artists such as Chance the Rapper, x2 time Grammy Nominee YBN Cordae, Dax, Hopsin and so many other industry icons that have given us the possibility to expand and grow as a successful company.
