Meet Cc Catapia of Second Aisle in The Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cc Catapia.

Cc, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I learned the value and importance of self-improvement at a very young age. Being in martial arts as a kid led me to have a very disciplined and motivated mindset. Sports kept me on my game of constantly wanting to improve, whether that be within my mental/spiritual self or my physical abilities; I’ve always strived for what I set my mind to achieve.

I was never the best at school as a kid, but I was hungry for change and started to work two jobs as soon as I could. My parents taught me hard work paid off, financial freedom is the key right? I learned the value of money through hustling several jobs at a time alongside the help of books like, “Think and Grow Rich,” “The Law of Success,” both written by Napoleon Hill, and, “Three Feet From Gold” also published by the Napoleon Hill Foundation. Not only did these books teach the simple skills of manifestation and speaking your future into existence, but reading them constantly reminds me how important actions of execution are. Turning your wants and needs tangible, taking everyday actions to achieve short term goals in order to be on track for bigger things, and understanding that being uncomfortable is what brings change for better. This mindset and my hunger for more has brought many opportunities my way.

Has it been a smooth road?
When you’re on the road for self-improvement and success, there are endless hardships. Maintaining a positive mental attitude is something I still need to check myself on regularly because shit happens! Being overwhelmed and stressed is ordinary, it just takes a certain level of self-reflection to catch it, and know how to grow and learn from there. When things don’t go as planned, all we can do is adapt and become a chameleon in our environment. That has to be my biggest lesson this far.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Second Aisle – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Second Aisle is a nostalgic collective that curates and sells vintage clothing. We specialize in showcasing 80’s through mid-2000s fashion. Essentially our pieces are art within themselves and we highlight them through our content, look books, and events. As a team, we style, direct, and create all of our content in house. We set ourselves apart by piecing vintage clothing and sneakers together while capturing it in our own style. Our curations are more than just items for sale, they are all a part of our large closet for our community. We provide a safe studio space in which people can express themselves and utilize our clothing for their own content. We aim to inspire people in their creative journey as well as be inspired and grow with them. Whereas we use our clothing for our own content, we also open our doors to people who are stylists, photographers, and other local creatives.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
LA is full of endless opportunities and resources. I love that people come from all over the world to build their businesses and achieve their dreams here. I wouldn’t say that I dislike it, but what I do find interesting is that just as many as there are hustlers and hungry people out here, there are just as many people just looking to get put on because of “clout” etc. Hard work and accomplishments come from within. It’s a mental battle between you and your goals. All it takes is persistence. The only person who can make significant changes in your life is yourself.
