Meet Carrie Minter of Carrie’s Pilates Plus in West Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Minter.

Carrie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was a teen, I have been into health and fitness, feeling your best physically has just always been a focus of mine. At fifteen, I started modeling and have modeled for top designers including Valentino and Versace, and have done covers and pages of Seventeen Magazine, FHM, Esquire, Maxim, and Playboy.

During my modeling career, I was super healthy and got certified in Pilates, it’s been more than ten years now, and in 2013 I opened Carrie’s Pilates Plus. At CARRIE’S we curate highly qualified and passionate instructors, At CARRIE’S we help clients of all ages transform their self-image and bodies via exercise and nutrition education.

We have become one of the go-to pilates classes in LA and it’s been so much fun growing the business.

On a side note, I’m actively involved with several animal rescue groups and developed a line of all natural, cruelty-free, anti-aging skin care line, Beauty By Carrie. And just launched BARDOT Hair with my best friend Raquel!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course there’s been struggles, maintain a business and staff is always a challenge but our core business is what keeps us rooted and keeps me so focused. Coming from modeling and now to Pilates I’m so grateful of what I have built here with my team,

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Carrie’s Pilates Plus story. Tell us more about the business.
Carrie’s Pilates Plus is a female owned and operated business opened in 2013. My background and education come from my love of the workout, having been a student for over 11 years. I completed my Comprehensive Pilates Education with the International Pilates College, certified by Master Ivon Dahl. Over the last five years, I’ve built a name and a brand, running LA’s largest and most popular Pilates studio in Los Angeles loved by models, actors, athletes, and men and women of all ages.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
No luck here just hard work and dedication and a girl with some GOALS. I’m tough and have been through so many setbacks but that has never stopped me from building a brand for myself.

  • Pilates Teaching Programs range from $1000-2,500.00
