Meet Carol Keiner of The Blushing Details Events in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Keiner.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Carol. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Well, I’ve always been passionate about the event planning industry from a very young age. That passion has allowed me to be recognized very early on as someone that could be relied upon to support events that I was asked to design as well as run. Based on similar experiences over the years, I continued to learn more and more what it took to be successful.

I was a co-founder and a director for a dessert catering business for about five years, and those particular positions were benefited by those prior experiences. I was always familiar with the wedding and event industry. I didn’t start branching out as a Wedding Planner until I got married four years ago. It all started when I wrote a wedding blog on different things that couples can do during the cocktail hour.

The exposure of that blog got more and more people interested. Soon after, a few brides and friends were reaching out to me asking me if I was a Wedding Planner. It was here that I thought about actually having a Wedding Planning business and that turned into the genesis of The Blushing Details that many people know today.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I always feel there is a learning curve to just about every wedding/event I plan or design. Every new learning experience has supported me in molding and developing my skills along with the further expansion of my company.

It has also helped grow my team’s knowledge and preparation for future wedding events. Whatever challenges each experience brings, I’ve been able to maneuver, pivot, and generally adjust so the outcome is beneficial to my clients.

Generally speaking, nothing is every totally easy. I can’t change the motion of the ocean, but I can adjust my sails to better navigate so let’s just say that I try to make the path as easy as possible for the team while feeling we’ve done everything to deliver above and beyond expectations.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

I am very proud of the relationships I’ve developed with my couples over time, and my goal is to create an event that encapsulates the personality and uniqueness of our couples? The proud moment when we were Honor and Awarded the Winner of The Knot Best of Wedding 2018 & 2019. Wedding Wire Couples’ Choice Awards 2017, 2018, & 2019. I was selected 2nd years in a row to plan and design the Crate and Barrel Private Registry Event.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in what you might call a very creative household. My school project was fun for me. It gave me an opportunity to exercise my creative outlet in varies of ways such as singing in a school choir, dancing in 5th-period dance class, sketching my high school prom dress, fashion-forward styling in variety of outfits, planning school fundraising events, and putting together bouquets of flower arrangement for parties. With my artistic approach in school had encouraged me to pursue my passion after High School in the creative field in fashion, visual merchandising, and event planning. I went to college for fashion & business and worked in the fashion industry as a visual merchandiser, fashion show event producer, stylist, education, and management for about 18 years and dabble in the food industry before getting into the event and wedding planning industry. I had a wild imagination that helped me create many building blocks for my love for Event Planning and Design.
