Today we’d like to introduce you to Carley Lusk.
Carley Lusk grew up and studied in the greater Detroit area. Moving to Los Angeles taught Carley to jump from couches, and hustle. “It’s easy to tell someone in LA, I am a singer songwriter..but tell your best friend’s mom back home and she will think you are mad.” Two years into LA Carley has released a self-titled E.P, and music video.
The two tracks leave you feeling encaptured, and wanting more. The first track ‘Stay in my way’ is a colorful R&B tune, contrasted by the pop ballad Flower Pot. Carley performs around LA at iconic venues such as the Whiskey a GoGo, and exclusive night clubs. We are excited to see where she goes next!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I had a very comfortable childhood and was not prepared to be thrown to the wolves. I can’t believe I am still here and do not plan on leaving.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I love to sing and write. I find interest in very little things, if I am creating I feel fulfilled, even if it is through cooking. But nothing moves me like music does. I am sure there are many people who feels this way, I think what makes me different is the way I interpret the world and my emotions. I write directly from my heart, whatever comes out comes out. It’s genuine to me and I hope I always stay that way.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have a lot of material written that I am excited to record and release, along with visuals. I really enjoy collaborating with talented people in this city and look forward to those I have yet to meet! Follow me on Instagram @carleylusk to get updates on shows, and come out for a live one.
