Meet Camry Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camry Jackson.

Camry, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, when I was growing up through grade school, I always knew I could sing. Singing and dancing for me were just hobbies even when I got to high school. I never thought that I would want to pursue music as a career. I was doing talent shows and dance recitals and high school musicals and knew I had a gift from the beginning. Not until I got an opportunity to be on ABCs “Boyband” tv show was I able to realize I wanted to be a full-time recording artist. After being on that show, the love for performing grew and I was in a group called 4th Ave and we did three tours including an international tour as the opener. Today I am a solo artist releasing my brand new EP in August of this year titled “Vibe Check” and I’m so excited. I currently live in New Jersey but I am moving out to LA with my best friend and also recording artist Isaiah Alston. There I will be continuing my career as an artist and trying to be the best in the industry. I’m also a songwriter and vocal producer that loves working with other artists.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth sails. I don’t think anyone has had it easy in their pursuit to greatness but I have been abundantly blessed to do everything that I have done up until this point in my career. I did get voted off of the show BoyBand. I made the top 12 but that loss did not shake me because I found what I loved doing more than anything. I’ve sang background for artists like Charlie Puth, Alicia keys, tones and I, and Charlie Wilson. In doing that, I had to learn on the fly how to work in a professional music industry environment. Even though I’m not perfect, I must say that I became a natural pretty quickly.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a singer/songwriter, vocal producer and performer/dancer. I’m most proud of touring the US and Europe doing shows almost every day and singing with amazing artists that I listed already. What sets me apart is that my voice and tone is not like another person in the industry. I am also a great dancer and songwriter and my sound is unique which allows me to create and hear things in music that no one else would think about. I think it’s all about bringing your authenticity into your music because music is always changing. Everyone is always looking for that next new and hot sound and I think that’s ME. Lol.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Next 5-10 for me looks like many awards and collabs with the biggest artists and producers in music. I think I’m going to change the depiction of singers with low voices being inferior to those with high vocal range.
