Meet Byrus West T&A Showroom in Fashion District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Byrus West.

Byrus, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a musician, I started by working out of a studio and engineering for other artists with music styles ranging from Hip-Hop all the way to Country music. While spending so much time within the studio, I had to record vocals to play with my voice and learn how to use the programs I was working on.

I transitioned from that into making beats and solely producing for friends and family that were pursuing music careers. It gave me a way to keep making music but somehow someway, something always came up the pushed me into doing taking music a bit more serious every time.

Fast forward to 2019, I decided to start using my own voice over my own beats to get ideas out as a creative. I would periodically play songs for friends and they would urge me to drop them and see how far I could really take the music route. That put the fuel in me to decide to drop out of college and move to LA in May, where I have been thriving ever since…

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With chasing any dreams, there will always come struggles. You can’t even fully chase a dream without being aware that you will face failures within the process but it’s all a part of learning along the way.

I have lost touch with past friends as well as a lot of money blown on stupid things that could have put into investing within myself. It’s all a part of growing and being human though. No matter what, no matter the obstacles though, my work ethic and drive will always push me to seek the success in whatever I decide to do.

T&A Showroom – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Currently, I am also a sales rep for T&A Showroom, one of the largest showrooms in the country, representing sales for over 30+ brands. Currently, I am involved with the sales of the Ed Hardy rebranding, as well as Rider Sandals, AMILLION and 7DAZE, a sick streetwear brand.

I am proud of the person working for T&A Showroom has made me become. I have gained many valuable connections that have kept me pushing forward within both of my careers as well through this company.

I feel that what sets me apart from a lot of people is my concept of time. I realize that I only have such a small window of time within this world to make an impact so every single second counts to me. If I’m not doing something that is making me happy or positive, why should I continue to do it at all?

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is what you make it. It’s a mental thing in my eyes. Once you set a goal, no matter what that goal is, you will have to work toward it in order to achieve it. Along the way might come mishaps, problems, or things that might make it a bit harder to reach your goal but with getting through all of that, the feeling you will always feel is success. There is no real definition to it because it can range but when you feel it, you will always know what it is.
