Meet Bryan Bonilla in East LA (Pico/Whittier)

Today we’d like to introduce you to B0ryan.

B0ryan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a born & raised Southern California kid from Pomona. I began rapping & writing lyrics from a young age, I would say around nine years old. Around the same time, I started playing football & fell in love with the sport. Luckily for me, I was pretty good at both. In 2014 after my college football career had come to an end, I found myself being more intrigued by the idea of rapping & expressing my aggressions in that way. After a few years of laying low and perfecting the craft, I decided to really dedicate myself & finish a body of work. I released my debut mixtape “EP.IS.ODES” in 2017. This release acquired over 10,000 streams on SoundCloud, with really no promotion at all. After I dropped two more mixtapes, I took the best songs from these tapes and put them on all major music streaming platforms under the name “Rdio Hed”. Now I’m at the stage where I’m figuring out how to scale the vision.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been smooth. I definitely go through the same struggles every artist & entrepreneur go through, like trying to find a way to make a living & remain sane at the same time. But I think I have a lot of genuine/real people who support me in what I do so I always feel like I can make it happen. Plus, I enjoy the challenge…

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m an independent artist with hopes of taking this little light of mine to the top! No co-signs, no gimmicks – just channeled emotion & real ones in my corner.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Reaching over 20k streams on these platforms! I know it doesn’t seem like much to a lot of people but the feeling is crazy! We make these songs from scratch, most of the time the beat as well, so to have real streams & humans who take the time to listen, share it & Shazam these tracks – Man! That’s crazy to me. I love it. I’m grateful.
