Meet Brittney Crush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Crush.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was first introduced to performing on stage by way of acting. My mother signed me up for Acting & Improvisational classes at the age of eight. This gave me a foundation as an entertainer. As the years went by and I explored different styles of acting, I found myself drawing more to Musical Theater and it wasn’t long before I began writing and recording my own music. Attending a performing arts high school, gave me formal vocal training, mentors and a support system that pushed me to continue forward in this industry. After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Music Business, I felt a need to turn up the notch in my artistry even more and relocate to Los Angeles where I currently reside and work as a full-time recording artist, songwriter and actress. January 2020 makes it a year since I have lived in Los Angeles and thus far I’ve performed at The Staples Center twice and had the opportunity of working on sets of major television networks like BET and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I read something one time that said ” The Dream is Free but the hustle is sold separately” and I couldn’t agree more. I do not come from a family of professional entertainers therefore I am the first to explore some of the hardships of being an artist and often the pressure and misunderstanding of this lifestyle can be a bit heavy to endure alone. You lose a lot of friends, you miss out on family functions because of long rehearsals or gigs and even forget birthdays because you’re running on little to no sleep. These things can begin to take a toll on you however, I am truly blessed to have loving parents, encouraging siblings and a supportive network of loved ones praying for my success.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a full-time entertainer who is currently in the studio recording new music. I record music, song write for other artist and act in both stage plays and on camera. I specialize in pop music infused with RnB. I am most proud of my move to Los Angeles and leaving everything I knew and was comfortable with, to achieve more for myself as an artist.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Humility is an important characteristic to have in this industry but I also believe that being obedient to God and the plans he has for your life, is what will ultimately open the doors destined for you.
