Meet Brittany Kristena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Kristena.

Brittany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ll keep a super long story short. At a young age, I was adopted & was raised in Texas. Of course with all the energy I had, my parents put me in Dallas Conservatory School of arts. That’s where my passion for entertainment came from. I got a mac at age 12, (the desktop one) and constantly used it to make small videos fo family and friends. I never really had friends, I may have been too bossy, but that’s my Gemini personality lol. Throughout middle school and high school, I was in the arts. In almost every play. I was very bubbly and free. Being too nice sometimes wasn’t good. Being adopted and living a certain way most people thought I lived, I got bullied in middle school and high-school. It got so bad to where I moved from Georiga to Texas at the time.

At the time finishing highschool my biological mother passed away. It hadn’t hit me until now, because I’m an adult and I need her to help me navigate life. After Highschool and her passing, I spent a year back in Georiga. Then at 18, I decided to move to Los Angeles. Of course, I had help, still do. So dealing with a lot over the past few years, I’m just now finding my grounding and going for everything I deserve. I continue to use fuel of my past to propel me & my acting career. I am now signed to National Talent LA. I am super busy being a nanny & going on auditions. I also run my youtube channel (BasicallyBrittany). I am very Passionate about entertainment and hope to write and direct my own show and films one day. I refuse to give up when I know I am meant for entertainment. Being able to go after my dreams at a young age with no strings attached is the best blessing I am grateful for.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has definitely not been easy. There have been nights where I have wanted to end it all or give up. My sister has been my backbone for that, including my boyfriend. I’ve been cyberbullied for one of my posts. The post went viral when Vine was a thing because I was too skinny. Imagine 2,000 people calling you skinny, saying you need to eat fries, lol it’s comical to laugh at now. There have been so many obstacles but those stories will be saved for my memoir book one day lol.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an actress, singer, comedian, & dancer. Anything creative is up to my ally. My YouTube channel (BasicallyBrittany) is my baby, still up and coming. I make a variety of videos and try to document my crazy life. I am most proud that no matter the numbers on any of my socials I always give quality, so I believe that answers the last two lol. Quality over quantity always wins.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see it being more relaxed and not so up-tight in the next 5-10 years. I see it getting back to talent and not just numbers. I honestly believe people want talent not just numbers, and I’m not talking about executives. I do see it being more female-friendly, and having a lot more female everything in the industry.
