Meet Briana Erin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Erin.

Hi Briana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born with an artist’s mind. Growing up with my father, a master sculptor, and my mother, a graphic designer, I was surrounded by an abundance of creativity, which influenced my aesthetic from the start. Continuing my love of the arts, I attended the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design to further refine my design skills. Once I graduated I started Tat2 Designs jewelry with my mother. Since then the company has continued to grow and remains a labor of love and an artistic outlet for me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had my company for over 15 years. There have been ups and downs in the industry but if you stay true to who you are as a designer, and love what you do, you can’t go wrong.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

When designing I tend to lean toward antique finishes and design elements that are distinct and personal. Coins, a signature accent that can be seen throughout the Tat2 collection, are collected from my travels around the world and lend an air of exceptional charm to the designs.

I create treasures that are wearable pieces of history, and feature coins of powerful women, empowering women today. “I keep trends in mind, but I believe jewelry memorializes moments, so the style should last a lifetime, not a season.”

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love to bake, it’s my creative outlet outside of work and designing jewelry. Now that I’m a mother of a three years old girl, spending time with her in the kitchen baking is one of my favorite past times and a passion that now she and I can enjoy doing together.
