Meet Brian Masjedian of APC Fabric’s in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Masjedian.

Brian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today?
It began when I was sophomore in high school, 5 years ago. I’m now 21, earning my bachelors in Business Administration. At the time, my father was working in the fabric industry, and my strong curiosity to see what his work entailed induced me to follow him on the treks around Los Angeles. Visit after visit, I began learning and understanding more about the various processes that go into producing textiles.

I have always been infatuated with the vibrant colors of the rainbow and being surrounded by so many fabric rolls during my visits, I fell in love with the thousands of colors I saw, ultimately becoming eager to work in this field. So with my obsession with the rainbow and hunger to do something that I love, I decided to establish a fabric retail and wholesale distributing company, APC Fabrics.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I am currently a full-time student at a 4-year university earning my bachelors in Business Administration while managing APC Fabrics so the biggest challenge for me is balancing the two together.

APC Fabrics – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We have partnered with different manufacturers to sustain our commitment to provide customers with the highest quality of fabric at the most affordable price. All fabric’s listed on our website has been specially made for APC Fabrics, meaning they won’t be found elsewhere. Many rely on the internet as their primary source for shopping fabrics, so we’ve made it a goal of ours to provide customers with a shopping experience much more convenient and efficient than that of a brick & mortar store.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
One of my favorite quotes is by David Hauser of Grasshopper, he said “ Success is the ability to do what you love every day. This may sound simple but what you love changes over time and having the ability to change what you are doing to match your passion is true success. This has nothing to do with money, wealth or status as each person has different passions and loves.” With your work making up such a big portion of your life, it’s important for myself that I do something I love.

I mentioned It earlier, but I was obsessed with rainbows. Like I was literally known as “the rainbow kid” in elementary school. Colors would subliminally influence my level of happiness and so with my father being involved in the textile industry, I was often surrounded by fabric through treks to different warehouses and manufacturers. I saw so many fabric rolls, in so many different colors. It was paradise for me. Since then, I made it a mission of mine to combine my love for colors and things I love with my passion for business.

Success is happiness and happiness is success.
