Today we’d like to introduce you to Bre Hance.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Bre. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It started for me at an early age, while growing up in Tempe, Arizona and spending time on job sites and in model homes with my dad who was a residential painting and drywall contractor; and with my mother who was a project manager for a custom home builder. I remember the lively discussions had around our dinner table some nights about cost effectiveness versus quality; and form and function versus style and beauty. I questioned, why couldn’t a home be both cost-effective and of good quality, and functional, as well as beautiful? It was then, my passion for designing beautiful and functional spaces was born.
Although I worked in other fields before establishing myself in my dream career, friends and family would always encourage me to do something with my natural talent for design. I was frequently asked to design and decorate for many of them and would do it for fun, as a hobby. I’ve always had this compulsive need to be ‘dialed in’ (as my dad says), and was happy to help anyone who wanted to have their space transformed into a sanctuary.
I’m a person who rises up to the occasion and delivers a deliberate and well thought out result, a skill I developed as a division 1 volleyball player and team leader. I believe that hard work, efficient planning, and excellent communication are fundamental to success and I appreciate and value the significance of developing and maintaining relationships by building trust and consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
In 2014, I founded InHance Interiors and it began as a one-man operation with the purpose of providing professional design services solely for The Run Group, a residential investment and development company. With the experience gained from that exclusive relationship and the success achieved in such a high-volume production environment, implementing grass roots marketing methods, and through multiple client referrals, InHance Interiors quickly grew to service additional clientele such as homeowners, luxury home contractors, architects, and other investors & developers. Since then, I have designed, built, and/or furnished over 40 homes to date, and look forward to becoming one of the leading and most respected Design/Build firms in the greater Los Angeles area.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Owning your own business is hard. Especially, a business that I didn’t have too much technical experience in. Having great taste, sourcing beautiful finishes, and being able to style a room, plus organizational and management skills, was scratching the surface. I needed to develop a design package and process for installing and executing my designs.
My design packages started off as PowerPoint decks full of inspiration images and arrows pointing to what I was trying to call out in the image and a material finish list made in excel with over 500 rows. Now, we have an extremely thorough and clear design package filled with elevations, renderings, and relationships with suppliers, so our material finish lists are filled with purchase order numbers and consist of maybe 5o rows. Believe me, they have come a long way.
I’ve learned valuable lessons the hard way, but I am grateful for each because I won’t let them happen again. I really believe that you have to pave your own path and make your own mistakes in order to develop your company ethos and process. However, my company would not have grown and been as successful as it has been, as quickly, without the help of mentors- business ones and industry specific. These relationships really helped me navigate how to start and run a business and project speed bumps.

InHance Interiors is a Los Angeles-based, high-end residential design/build firm and our core services include New Construction, Remodels & Additions, and Interior Décor. Essentially, we are a one stop solution for all design, construction and furnishing needs. Our clientele includes homeowners, luxury home builders, investors, and developers.
Our mission is to make the design/build process seamless and enjoyable for clients, creating a space that they absolutely love. For a company that started on a laptop in my living room to a cozy, creative office on Beverly Boulevard, designing, building and furnishing multimillion dollar homes, I am very proud and fortunate to have a staff of 4 brilliant women. All super creative, thoughtful, and great at what they do. My team has helped me to execute my vision and grow the company!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The greater Los Angeles area is the perfect playground for us. It literally couldn’t be better. Everything is old and in need of a renovation. Plus, it’s a city filled with such diverse people, which makes our job even more fun. We get to cater our designs to all tastes.
I would absolutely recommend starting out in Los Angeles. There are so many people in the city that all types of projects exist out there- from styling a room, a small bathroom remodel to a tear down to a new construction.
