Meet Brandon Dean Johnson of BigFooters in Van Nuys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Dean Johnson.

Brandon Dean Johnson, (“BigFoot”) is a native of North Carolina. He studied Graphic Design and Fine Arts at Elizabeth City State University where his involvement included joining the University’s football team and becoming a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Soon after college, Brandon lived and traveled throughout Europe where he showcased his knowledge and skills in Art and Design while immersing himself in other cultures and languages, further expanding his appreciation for people and Fine Arts. He volunteered to teach and inspire kids through visual arts across the globe. After years of living abroad, Brandon moved to Los Angeles to delve even deeper into the world of Entertainment.

Brandon was offered a job with Zac Levi and David Coleman’s Nerd HQ where he was titled Art Director and Production Coordinator for the company. Because of his hard work and dedication, he was later recognized and picked up by Pure Imagination Studios, where he’s currently employed. During Brandon’s leisure time, he produces original content through his company BigFooters, along with a team that supports him.

The BigFooter Team consists of Amina Hansford (COO), Anna Arakelyan (Assistant Director), Taj Shareef (Head Writer), Jose Hawkins (Director) , Chris Miller (Production Coordinator), Peter Darbey (Director/Producer), Adrianna Gentile (Lead Actor), Austin Smith (Artist), Matt Jordan (Director/Artist), Nattanapat Jordan (Artist), and Fernando Salazar (DP).

They all share the same passion and vision, but all offer different abilities and skill sets. BigFooters is seeking to create and produce original content that major media outlets would be interested in picking up. At the moment BigFooters is producing three projects as well as hosting monthly networking events designed to bring out entertainment minded people.

In spite of his busy schedule, Brandon also chair of the board and volunteers to the children that Create Now serves since 2014. The kids adore him, and Create Now is incredibly grateful to have him on their team.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Moving to LA was the biggest struggle. I traveled here with my friend and cousin all the way from North Carolina. Once here we were homeless for a bit which was rough, especially with no friends or family living here able to help with my situation. I believe once I got through this I was confident enough to start creating interesting projects that others would want to work on.

Also building a network of individuals that you can see yourself working with is also a huge struggle that I went through. Meeting people in LA that are genuine and “real” is also something you have to learn about and overcome.

We constantly face obstacles but I think finding a way to overcome them always fun and rewarding.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into BigFooters story. Tell us more about your work.
The explosion of new media platforms over the past decade has made originality in creative content harder and harder to come by. BigFooters (DBA BigFooters, LLC) seeks to provide a steady flow of high-quality, original content through two integrated efforts. First and foremost, BigFooters will create and produce original content developed by both its staff and outside partners (specifically those who have a well-developed plan with dedicated leadership and financial support.) We will develop our ideas enough for them to be pitched. Secondly, BigFooters will continue to hold its Original Content Networking Event (OCNE) on a monthly basis. This event serves as a platform to connect original content creators with the Company and each other and also serves as a way to showcase our brand and projects.

The ultimate goal in the next three years is to create content that will be pitched and picked up by larger studios to generate profits for the Company. Secondly, we want to continue to grow the OCNE in terms of attendance and profit through event sponsors.

We are all young and driven individuals looking to make a name for ourselves in the entertainment world.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My personality has definitely got me far in my career. People tend to want to work with fun and caring people, and that definitely me. Throw this in with my artist abilities and you get me.
