Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradley Leake.
Growing up in the Midwest, Bradley was one of three identical triplets. As a young boy, he began practicing his craft whenever possible. Styling the hair of his cabbage patch doll soon progressed to the hair of babysitters, and Bradley eventually became part of the neighbor next doors’ daily styling routine. As a high school freshman, he realized there was a profit to be made as he began styling hair for high school dances. While his brothers pursued college degrees, Bradley followed his passion to pursue his cosmetology degree in Illinois at Paul Mitchell. Bradley has followed his passion for precision haircutting, dimensional hair color, balayage, extensions and hair styling. He has learned from and worked alongside some of today’s top industry professionals. Bradley believes “knowledge is power”. He always continues to educate himself on the latest hair trends which allows him to seamlessly balance any style from, “cool girl bed head”, to sleek chignons’, and soft up-styles.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Finding a work life balance. This is something I’m still continuing to work on. As a self-employed stylist, having the ability to control my own schedule is one of the best assets but sometimes saying No when clients want a last-minute hair appointment is hard. I have learned the importance of disconnecting from social media, and staying true to my working hours is a great way to plan and engage in activities with my loved ones.
Hair By Bradley Leake – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Bradley is great with blondes, sun kissed brunettes, extensions and men’s and women’s haircutting. He is great with listening to his guest’s hair routine and giving them a hairstyle that will best fit complement each individual feature, hair type and maintenance routine.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success can be defined in so many ways. For me personally, success is the ability to make a positive impact on others while surrounding myself with industry professionals who are more knowledgeable than myself.
