Meet Blake Stargel of Stargel Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Stargel. 

Hi Blake, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I first got my start in real estate as an assistant to a successful team in my hometown, Omaha, Nebraska. Although the role was not filled with the glitz and glamour of what I had seen on TV, it played a pivotal role in piquing my interest in the industry. While I enjoyed my new opportunity, I always felt there was more out there for me. Ever since I was young, I had been California dreaming, and after a year of saving, I decided to take the leap of faith and made my way out to LA. This was quite a shock to my 20-year-old system, coming from the Midwest at such a young age. 

I quickly got a job at Whole Foods to ensure this was more than just a short stay. Like a lot of people in their early 20s, I was indecisive about what I wanted out of life. After exploring everything from acting to going back to college, I knew real estate was meant for me. I immediately started taking classes, and within a year, I was a licensed agent with Keller Williams Hollywood Hills. I felt a tremendous amount of accomplishment. Little did I know the hard work was just beginning. 

As almost all realtors can attest, the first few years are the most challenging. After sitting 50+ open houses and over a year of hard work, I finally got my first sale. This success gave me the confidence to keep going and turn my dream into a reality. Now five years later and after a rollercoaster of big wins and plenty of life lessons, I am an agent with Compass in West Hollywood, doing what I love – Helping others succeed through the power of Real Estate. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of my biggest challenges was to keep going even after not seeing immediate success. This business is a numbers game; the more people you meet, the more opportunities come. It takes time to build a business, and you must be patient even when the odds seem against you.
