Meet Bileko Wissa and Patrick Loiseau of Generation Culture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bileko Wissa and Patrick Loiseau.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Generation Culture is a family team of two cousins Bileko Aziza Wissa and Patrick Loiseau. Both are out of Los Angeles, California but their Family heritage stems from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bileko Aziza Wissa is stand-up comedian and Actor, I’ve been fortunate to be able to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live and recently was on Amazon Prime “Laugh with Africa”.

The way we got started with our Clothing line Generation Culture was the influence of Patrick. He noticed Bileko had a podcast(Bantu Boyz Podcast) and doing many shows in front of many people and he said, “Cousin need your own brand.” Bileko thought about it but I couldn’t come up with a name or idea that signified what they both represent. After some time, they came up with the Moniker, “Generation Culture”. Generation Culture represents there beliefs: family, love, and building a legacy. We at Generation Culture sell men’s T-Shirts, Fitted Hats, and Men’s Cologne. I believe what sets us apart from other clothing lines is the quality material but each item has a message that’s important to this generation: “Culture”, “Family”, “Tribe”, “Love”, “Legacy” and “Legacy”. We believe these are words and themes we don’t hear enough.

So when a customer wears one of our items, he could say “I’m wearing a ‘Family’ shirt” may inspire us to continue to build those aspects of our lives. Also, our colognes are animal cruelty-free and they have African Names from “Mayi” meaning water or “Almazi” meaning Diamond in Swahili. Generation Culture is very important to me because it’s an extension of the entrepreneurship I saw from my family. I witnessed my Aunt build up a Home Health Agency from nothing and my Parents build an Import Export Company from Congo, Generation Culture just follows in the footstep of entrepreneurship in my family. The best Product? I believe all of our products are the best!!! However, there’s one particular product we feel people will enjoy is the Legendary Bundle. The Legendary Bundle includes (1) Black/Gold Legendary Shirt, (1) Black/Gold Tribal Snapback Hat, and (1) Tribal Tote bag for $69.99.

People could follow our journey, stay up to date with Generation Culture here:

Has it been a smooth road?
Anything Great doesn’t come with a smooth map. The most difficult thing we have had to face is finding the right Manufacturers, the right designers, and the good people to work with it. Before getting to making the shirts or making the hats, we have to be able to work with the individuals that respect us and respect our vision. Respect and integrity goes a long way for us.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Generation Culture LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
Generation Culture LLC is a clothing brand that specializes in T-Shirts, Hats, and Men’s Colognes. The theme behind Generation Culture is “Culture”. We name our items by the terms we feel fits Culture such as “Family”, “Love”, “Tribe”, “Rootz”, “Legacy” and “Legendary”. For our cologne, we name them “Legacy Oils” and the names of the certain fragrances we used African names such as “Mayi” meaning water in the language of Lingala, or “Almasi” meaning “Diamond” in the language of Swahili. We feel we connect with this generation because these are things that very important to them as well.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5 to 10 years, we hope to have Generation Culture in major retailers and have our own specific Cologne Line and potentially shoes. We believe that we can create our own lane in the sneaker market since the sneaker culture is very very big.
