Meet Bianca Camacho and Kristin Cleavinger Woo of Confetti Brigade in Southern California

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Camacho and Kristin Cleavinger Woo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bianca and Kristin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As kids, we were always looking for creative ways to bring people together! We had big imaginations and had tons of fun dreaming up make-believe cafes and running our own lemonade stand. Looking back, we were already showing signs that we had a natural love for planning while having fun. So, it was no surprise when we both pursued careers in the hospitality industry. In our respective roles, we gained valuable skills in event planning, project management, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Building something together was a long time coming, and it eventually became clear to us that we wanted to start our own Event Coordination business.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been anything but smooth since starting our business almost ten months ago. Although we have encountered challenges along the way, big and small, we have used these opportunities to help us grow as a team and how to improve the way we operate. When we organized our first styled shoot, we pitched our concept to over 30 vendors, and received many “no’s” in response. The small group of people who responded with “yes”, turned out to be a perfect, uniquely talented group of creative individuals who remain trusted peers and colleagues to this day. We are grateful for the amazing clients, vendors, and artists alike who have teamed up with us at events and for our special projects, inspiring and challenging us in different ways.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Confetti Brigade story. Tell us more about the business.
We are an Event Planning business and specialize in Wedding Coordination. We currently offer Day-Of Coordination and Partial Planning services. We love focusing on the unique qualities that make our clients special. While we respect traditional wedding styles and customs, we get most excited about venturing outside of the norm and remembering that styles, ceremonies, and events are not one size fits all!

We are proud of our ability to elevate experiences not only for our clients but with the vendors we partner with as well. We are always looking for ways to support and lift up other small businesses. In a wedding, we absolutely want our celebrants to be happy, but we also make it a priority to ensure our fellow vendors have what they need to succeed so that the whole event comes together seamlessly.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We believe that luck didn’t play a huge role in our lives and business. Instead, it was a combination of taking risks, working hard, and resourcefulness!
