Meet Beth Teran of Balanced by Beth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Teran, DPT, CSCS.

Beth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a Physical Therapist for 18 years with an emphasis in health and wellness. I have 3 kids who are active in sports. I want to be strong and healthy so I can hike Yosemite, surf Hawaii, Paddleboard Dana Point, run Mt. Wilson and play volleyball in Manhattan Beach. I want an active life to enjoy my family and friends, so I do daily exercises to strengthen and create a resilient body.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve had ups and downs along the way. Being pregnant 3 times has been an amazing experience but difficult to get back to the rhythm of regular exercise. Also, trying to fit in the time with 3 little ones at home has been a challenge too. I’ve had bouts of knee pain, hip pain and back pain which was difficult because of how it affected my motivation. These are some of the struggles I’ve faced to stay active, fit and healthy over the years.

Balanced by Beth – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have an online personal training health and wellness business to help clients establish a healthy routine of exercise in their daily life. I discuss goals, motivation and interests to establish a self care program tailored to their individual needs. I’m a doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. I have 18 years of experience to help clients safely establish a healthy exercise routine.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is a person living the life they want, motivated by their interests and passions.
