Meet Barbara and Jessica Bocek of Rodeo Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara and Jessica Bocek.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Jessica: I began my career working for a company whose focus was on marketing and event planning. After seven years I realized that I did not have the passion for this type of work and decided to make a change. I was able to secure a position in sales and leasing for a company that focused on high-end, luxury apartments. My clients, past and current, always enjoyed working with me and always came by to see me when they were in town. It was after speaking to several of them who were looking to buying property and realizing that I could not help them, I that decided to pursue obtaining my real estate license. This happened around the same time that my mother, Barbara, had retired from her banking career. My mom had always enjoyed going to open houses and looking at new home developments and would spend week-ends traveling with my dad to go see the next “new development”. Needless to say, she was enthusiastic about what I was about to do and decided to join me in this endeavor. We studied together, passed the test together and, as a team, went to work for Rodeo Realty. We branded ourselves as a mother-daughter team with a focus on integrity, honesty, providing the utmost in service.

My marketing background has been invaluable as it has enabled us to build a brand utilizing the social media platform. We’ve have been recognized by our peers and our company on the brand we’ve created and continue to grow as a business because of our marketing and the service provided. Whether it is helping someone with purchasing or selling a property, we provide the same high-level quality service to our clients from the beginning to the end. As one of our clients stated: “These ladies are an amazing team! I felt so cared for and important.”

Has it been a smooth road?
The real estate market is a challenge because of the many factors that influence the market. It’s very competitive and only the very best are successful. My mother and I have very different approaches to our business and what we need to do to grow it. But, while we sometimes struggle to understand the each other’s perspective, we respect and make full use of the different skillsets we each bring to the table.
