Meet Atazshii Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Atazshii Austin.

Hi Atazshii, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I first started my entrepreneurial journey, I was selling wigs and doing hair at 17 years old. My mother did hair as a side hustle, and it felt right at the time. However, once I got to college, I realized that this wasn’t my passion. Throughout my college journey, I learned how to develop websites and became familiar with marketing and public relations. This lead to me to pursue my BA degree in PR and becoming a freelance brand strategist to help others with brand guidelines and website development. My time as a brand strategist was absolutely amazing and I helped a lot of small business owners with their websites and more. I soon realized that I was more fulfilled with the consulting aspect and building relationships with my clients rather than simply designing a website for them.

Even as a young girl, I had a natural talent for connecting with others and giving advice. Friends and even strangers would feel drawn to my charisma and end up telling me their life story. I grew up knowing that I wanted to own a business, but it never occurred to me that I could become a business life coach. My journey was not easy but it led me to become the coach that I needed on both my healing journey and business journey. I believe everyone needs a coach that can relate to their struggles, create space for them, and help them achieve their goals.

This is why I chose to become a business life coach and combine spiritual healing with business strategy to help others reach their goals and transform from struggling entrepreneurs into a thriving business owners. I now help entrepreneurs align and manage their business and life with my coaching strategy and educational resources.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey of becoming a business life coach has been very challenging. I was once homeless and working 60-hours a week while sleeping in my car. My parents live very far from Long Beach, which was a struggle when trying to attend college at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). At the time, I was a full-time student and working 12-hour graveyard shifts with barely any time to rest. My grades and health were drastically decreasing, I had no social life due to work, and I was staying with a different friend each month. It seemed as though I couldn’t prioritize my schoolwork, relationships, or my business consistently. I was financially stressed, emotionally drained, and exhausted all the time. I remember thinking, “something has got to give”, and eventually it did.

I was laid off from my job, had gotten into a car accident and it felt like one problem after another. However, it gave me time to start my own surviving to thriving journey, I learned many things such as utilizing my resources, learning to make better decisions, and even manifesting techniques that helped me create a better life. This was a crucial aspect in my decision to become a coach. I know there are other’s who have faced similar struggles and I want to be the person that creates a space for them to be vulnerable and improve their situation whether it’s a personal healing journey or a business journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
