Meet Asia Chaney of Asia K in South Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Chaney.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I originally started at a performing arts school in Cincinnati, Ohio called “School for Creative and Performing Arts”. I attended the arts school for nine years. I majored in Dance, Theater (Drama), and Vocal Music. This experience molded me into the professional I am today. I participated in numerous productions, songwriter showcases, and more all throughout my time there. I then traveled to Chicago and attended Columbia College Chicago. At Columbia, I majored in Theater and Jazz Vocal Performance, this experience led to a large amount of networking in exposure. I lived in Chicago for eight years and ventured to Los Angeles where I met a production team “1245”. “1245” is a South Central LA based Production House. There I was able to come up with my masterpiece “F*ck Fear” anticipated EP to be released at the ended of this year, 11/11/20.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I have been at this thing called “music” and “show business” since I was six. In Chicago, I worked two jobs to have the opportunity to pay for rent and studio time. I’ve done so much acting background work. When I moved to LA, I spent the first few weeks couch hopping, I stayed in a Hostile for a few weeks, subleased. I’ve worked for Non-Profit company in lower-income schools which taught me the joy of children and kept me focused on being a dreamer.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Whether you’re in the mood to let your inner hot girl out or you’re feeling a lil sexy/saucy, as Asia K I am serving up exactly what you need to make it happen.

My music is fun and flirty… confident and witty everything you envision while getting dressed and performing for an audience of 1 in the mirror. I make music for the unapologetic fly girls who push limits and refuse to take no for an answer. My bass drive tracks paired with her sensual-soulful voice make you feel like a cool LA night on the town with your girls. My Lizzo-styled girl power chants are sure to lighten even the heaviest of moods.

My girlish wordplay even includes my very own vocabulary. I began using the word “zing” when I was just a young teen. The word is all about “feeling vibrant, boisterous and courageous” all of which you feel after listening to my music. So if you didn’t know, this freckled-faced beauty has made it clear; I’m here to teach everyone a lesson on rediscovering our boldness and relentlessly pursuing our dreams.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next five years, I see myself on the top of the Billboard Charts. I see myself on red carpets to Grammy’s, AMA’s, and even ASCAP! My brand Zing will be making a movement on the world in an amazing way. I also see myself in movies or tv acting and even hosting some amazing shows.
