Meet Ashley England of The Dope Girls Club in North Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley England.

Ashley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always loved using photography to capture the magic of everyday life and have shot everything from a wedding video to events at Arizona State University, to product launches for female-owned brands. My passion has always been with photography, but nothing ever really felt like it was my own thing.

I have been using cannabis medicinally to combat daily stress, severe anxiety, appetite loss, and as a sleep aid for a few years. Last summer I decided to play around with the idea of documenting my cannabis use and after a lot of daydreaming, and brainstorming, The Dope Girls Club was born.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, but is anything ever smooth sailing? Thank goodness for good weed. 😉

The Dope Girls Club – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Dope Girls Club is my original Lifestyle Cannabis Content Creation & Community.

While I specialize in Instagram, DGC is also on Tumblr and will soon be a website at thedopegirlsclub.com. DGC is most notably known for highlighting my photography of upcoming female owned brands and the best of the best in new cannabis products and events around Los Angeles.

I am most proud of the audience and community that I have built in a short seven months of starting this new venture, with a 73% women’s following. I take a lot of pride in the photos that I am creating and in the human connections I have made in this booming industry.

I have created cannabis content for all kinds of notable brands such as My Bud Vase, Moxie, Mehndi420, Fenix CBD, and Humble Flower Co.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment of my Cannabis career thus far was having the courage to get started! Often times I won’t allow myself to really dive into something unless I feel like I am fully ready to and that’s just no way to live.

The best advice I could offer anyone about how to get into this industry is to JUST START because honestly, that is the hardest part. Start before you’re ready and make the jump to follow your dreams, I promise you won’t regret it!
