Meet Artin Anagholoupian of The_Art_In _Fitness in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Artin Anagholoupian.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Artin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a child, I spent a lot of hours inside the kid’s clubs at gyms. My parents were divorced but both of them went to the gym six days a week, so it didn’t matter who I was with that week. I’ve been involved with sports my whole life, karate, soccer, football, basketball so it’s in my nature to just keep moving.

At 19, I started to take weight training a little more serious and at the time, I was working as a membership counselor for 24hr Fitness. I started working out with the Fitness manager from our club, his name was Joshua Hoover. For About two years, we trained every single morning at 5am Monday through Friday. He transferred clubs and that eventually came to an end, Then I started working out on my own at the same time and often people would ask to join. About 2/3 years later, a lot of people started to ask me to join my workouts because they saw the results on myself and from the people that were joining me regularly. I would literally have 3/4 people joining my workout every morning. Then one day one of my friends ask if I would train him, not him to join my workout but for me to actually guide him and train him one on one three days week. So I found a local small gym in Glendale called Hybrid Wellness and that’s how it all started. I started posting videos of my training my friends and within a week, I already had eight clients that eventually grew and now eight years late, I have a consistent 25+ clients. I do small group training classes on the weekends with 3/4 people and I average about 12-14 private sessions a day.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately for me, it has been pretty smooth sailing. From day 1, my business has grown my clientele base has grown and I’ve been fortunate enough to have had a majority of my clients for 5+ years.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We do Private personal Training, Small group training and we do meal preps, I have a meal prep company called EatFitLA. I do all private training now. I used to do the cooking for the meal prep as well but when my clientele built up for both I had to get help. So I decided to focus more on the private training and I Use a third party chef now for the meal preps. I specialize in weight loss and sports conditioning. I think what separates me from most trainers is my ability to connect with my clients mentally which gives them that extra push. I’m very hard on my clients and I tell them the truth always, even when they can’t handle it. Also, most personal trainers don’t offer meal prep. They offer nutrition guides and some even tell you what to eat exactly but most of them don’t provide the actual food.

What were you like growing up?
Oh man, this is such a horrible question, lol. I was a terrible kid, I always did whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I never cared for people’s feelings and no matter how upset someone would get over something. I still did it lol I eventually grew out of that stage and now everyone loves me. I’m known to be a hard ass and Stubborn asshole but all for the greater good. I think if I didn’t play sports growing up, I would’ve gotten in a lot more trouble.
