Today we’d like to introduce you to Armani Dungey.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Armani. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Graduating high school, all my classmates had thorough plans they intended on pursing and colleges they wanted to attend. Me on the other hand was the type of person to handle things as they come. Which resulted in me not being able to attend my dream college ASU! About four months after graduation, I decided to start my own business and started selling eyelashes.
The name started with EVERYTHINGINAM, I wanted to sell everything and INAM was my nickname backward MANI is too common for me. The more I got into the business the more I tried stuff to get into selling other popular things like lipgloss but I always felt like I wasn’t being original. Which is when I decided to create my own lane. My mom being a hairstylist, always made taking care of my hair a priority. Although we’re not perfect at it, the bonnets I created and sell definitely make up for the nights I didn’t tie my hair down or let my press get wet in the shower. My sister bought the first one I made then my supportive Instagram followers have been keeping me motivated. Today the name stands at EINAMco and means EVERYTHING I NEED IS ALREADY IN ME. My focus is luxurious, worthy, and affordable products that bring out the natural confidence in my customers. As I grow, my brand grows and I love it that way.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely been a rocky road! Perfecting craft, content, lack of support, struggling to get ideas out. The transition of selling this and that until I finally decided what was for me. All of that matters, but on a day to day basis, my main struggle is when my sewing machine acts up. It’s so frustrating and it breaks my heart.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Me Armani / INAM, I am an intermediate seamstress. I love to sew and make custom pieces leaving smiles on their faces. My business is known for its bonnets, the MoneyBill Reversible Silk bonnet. I am most proud of my business being different and true to who it’s owner is. What set me apart from others is my brand is NATURAL so just like I told my followers when I was selling lashes, you won’t see the most dramatic minks, but you’ll see the ones the enhance what’s already there.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was told I was very sweet, giving, and loving. I was always being held and always challenging everyone. I always had a smile on my face and was happy. I didn’t like my hair combed which explains why I am how I am now.
