Meet Ariyana Griffin of Full Circle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariyana Griffin.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ariyana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Even as a little girl, I have always loved community service; it feels like my way to show appreciation to my community. Growing up, my parents, grandparents and great grand-mother instilled in me just how important it was to help others and give back into the place that helped raise you. Last summer, I wanted to do more and started a community service-based organization.  My desire to make a greater impact had my ideas everywhere and I kept trying to figure out to make everything I love a full circle. I couldn’t come up with a solid name that represented everything, then it dawned on me Full Circle was perfect and encompassed everything I envisioned.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The community has welcomed me with open arms. They’ve seen my sincere passion and love for service so it has been so easy to start it up, especially in Leimert Park. I will forever thank the We Can Foundation for helping me with everything from supplies to helping secure volunteers.

Please tell us about Full Circle.
Full Circle is an up and coming organization that wants to serve; we see issues in our community and want to make a change. Our main focus is youth engagement in the areas of community service, environmental awareness, and education for the youth. Our mission is to be able to provide unique educational experiences for all students throughout the country by providing community service opportunities, making our environment green, educating our peers about the environment in our community, and most importantly having fun while serving others! Our club began at Clark Atlanta University. Members of our executive board are from Los Angeles, Atlanta, and St. Louis. Our efforts are concentrated in those three areas. We would like to expand the club to high schools in order to steer our future generations in the right direction. We put a strong emphasis on mentorship and youth engagement. Our goal is to be a resource for high school students. We want to provide community service hours, help students understand the transition from high school to college, and hold them accountable for their environment.

Initially, one of our greatest accomplishments was working with Taco Mell on Crenshaw Blvd. We were able to give taco vouchers to volunteers who helped do a Crenshaw clean up!  Another Full Circle highlight was being able to coordinate multiple community service events each week during summer with great volunteer turnouts.

We are most proud of helping others in our community!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck, I believe that God has blessed me, as well as my present and future endeavors. Because I am blessed, my organization is blessed.
